Artist Statement

As an artist, my fascination lies in the human body as a living archive—a vessel of memory, spirit, and transformation. I’m drawn to the silent narratives encoded in our bones, in our breath, and in the spaces between movement and stillness.
My personal experiences—childbirth, illness, healing, and an ongoing journey with breast cancer—have expanded the expressive range of my yellow-skinned Asian body and deepened my spiritual connection to ancestral Japanese wisdom.
Dance is my way of transforming memory and emotion into movement, offering moments of reflection and collective empathy. I create works that honor the complexity of being alive and celebrate the sacredness of the stories our bodies carry—with deep respect for all bodies, and the lives they hold within.
